The new year starts. Time to make some plans!

A shader I made to learn some graphics programming.

Well, if that wasn’t an interesting year. Corona destroyed a lot of plans (and sadly lives too), so hopefully we see some positive change this year. Let’s do a retroperspective on things I worked on in my free time:

  • I created this website as a starting point for future community creation and for showing projects I am working on. Of course, no one is reading it right now besides me (hello you!), but maybe that will change in the future.
  • I finished my first game prototype, althought I failed somewhat with publishing it (thanks, GoDot 3).
  • I started work on the SCIM project, which aims to establish a middleware for streaming integration in games.
  • I learned some basics about graphics programming, a topic completely new to me. The result is the shader I’ve shown already a picture of at the top of this post. You can check out the source code at https://www.shadertoy.com/view/tsKyD1.

Where do I go next?

Obviously, the SCIM project is my highest priority. I really want to finish the proof of concept for it. That means, creating a mod with Twitch integration (I am aiming for Oxygen Not Included at the moment), as well as publishing all the source files and documentation, and testing it out.

Furthermore, I really want to ramp up the prototype creation, maybe by publishing at least two smaller games this year. Let’s see if that’s going to work out.

Happy New Year!
